3 Ways to Encourage More Shop Reviews

Your products are top notch (we’ve seen them!), your customer service is uncanny and you have people that without a doubt love the work you’re putting into the world — but your shop reviews? There aren’t so many… in fact, they may be non-existent. You know what they say, “No one goes online to write a good review!” But that’s a lie. Many will, if you ask! 


Not only are shop reviews handy for marketing materials, a good ego boost, etc, positive shop reviews are what signals to other potential customers “Hey, yes! You need this!” and what get your sales moving in an upward direction.


Curious how you can encourage your already hooked-on-you clients to whip-up a quick review? Here are 3 things we’ve seen work:


1. Include a Request 

Something we have seen (and loved!) are shop owners include a small print out in the order packaging requesting that the product owner leave a review if they enjoyed their experience and be open about how much it would mean to them and their team if they did. Don’t forget to add how they can leave it, what URL they should visit, etc. And another suggestion? 


2. Make It Easy

The buyer might see that mailer and immediately hop onto your Etsy site or website + write a review — awesome! Or they may have good intentions to get to it later, but after dinner turns into tomorrow morning and tomorrow morning turns into right after work and you know how that goes. Automate an email campaign to be sent to the customer 10 days or so after shipment. Remind them how much you appreciate their business, that you hope they’re loving the product and if they did indeed enjoy what they bought how much it would mean for them to whip up a review. Include a button at the bottom that they can click that instantly directs them to the review page + watch your testimonials increase before your eyes!


3. Give a Little Something

If you can swing it, customers love getting surprises extra in their packages — and the best part? It doesn’t have to cost much at all! We’ve seen small crystals, a 10% off code towards a next purchase, a branded pen, all go a long way!
