3 Ways to Stay Sane Working From Home
By now, you may consider yourself a work from home pro — after all, we’ve been at this since March. Perhaps you answer your emails at your kitchen table with your cup of coffee every morning at 9, have a recurring Monday team meeting that leaves you jazzed or make a point to turn-on video when meeting with your employees. But we were curious: What do you do on the days when you’ve just had enough? It’s so common and possible that your usual day-breakers are no longer accessible (we’re looking at you, nail salons + cocktails with a group of friends!) That’s why today we’re diving into three ways we keep sane living that #WFHLife.
1. Lunch Date Zoom Calls
If you can meet up for a socially distanced lunch with a friend, all the better! But if not, get a group of your friends together and schedule a weekly or bi-weekly Zoom lunch date where you exit out of your other computer windows and enjoy each other’s company. Even all order the same cuisine to keep things interesting! We promise not to tell if a mimosa is involved.
2. Actually Logoff
Do you catch yourself answering an email after dinner? How about working so late you look out the window and realize the sun has already set? We relate but we wanted to stop! That’s why now at 5 it’s shutdown time for work related tasks and amp-up time for cooking in the kitchen, spending time with the fam and finally digging into that book we’ve had on our nightstands for the past four months. Give it a try and see how your attitude changes!
3. Switch It Up
Normally work in your dedicated office? Move to the kitchen table! Normally start your day at 8? Take a morning hike in your area and clock-in at 10. The beauty of this time is that you can do things you normally wouldn’t in the office so get creative and ask, “How can I make this day work for me?” After all, your happiness is most important.
