5 Habits of Strong Business Owners

· ·

Being a business owner is hard work. You often have to wear multiple hats at once, should be well-versed in the up and coming strategies, hire + fire and you know...make the products. To put it lightly: You’re busy! Today, we’re uncovering five habits of strong business owners to help you on your self-made journey.

Here’s what we got:

  1. Have a Morning Routine

Jumping into your day feeling jumbled + already frantic isn’t exactly the secret to productivity. Instead, so something that gets your mind and body moving — like yoga and a crossword puzzle, or a run + meditation. We recently did a round-up of 5 ways to jumpstart your morning and that’s a great place to start if you’re struggling to come up with ideas!

2. Hire to Complement

A big mistake many business owners make is hiring people who are just like them. While we would all love to hire our BFF to be apart of our ticket to the top, it doesn’t always work that way. Instead, you should hire people who complement your work style + company values, but that can bring a new (needed) skillset or knowledge base to the table.

3. Work On Your Business

Successful business owners make time to work on their business. Not just in it! Whether that’s a couple hours a week, or a couple of hours a day, make sure that you have a set amount of time dedicated to brainstorming how the business can grow, and determine what you’re needing to thrive.

4. Focus On Value

As business owners, we’re constantly told to focus on the value, but it’s vital to keep in mind that it’s value over quantity. If you are driven  towards success hone-in on giving your current customers the product they want vs. getting wrapped-up in how many products you can get out into the hands of consumers. You’ll thank us later!

5. Make Time for the Outside

Being an owner of a business can be a 24/7 job if you let it. Don’t. Make time for dinners with friends, walks in your favorite park or even binge watching your favorite Netflix show! Burnout isn’t something to strive towards and inspiration needs to come from somewhere.

We’re curious: What habit are you currently proud of? Let us know in the comments!
