5 Tips for Crafting the Perfect Email
Did you know that for every $1 you spend on email marketing, the average return is $38? That seems like a pretty great reason to incorporate it into your content marketing efforts! However, crafting a good email can be quite the challenge. There’s so much mixed information online and you might not fancy yourself a wordsmith. The good news? If you follow these 5 quick tips you’re much more likely to see results from your valiant email marketing plan.
1. Make Sure You Have a Responsive Template
Did you know that 47% of email opens are on mobile devices and 80% of people delete an email if it doesn’t look good on their mobile device? That’s why it’s incredibly important that you make sure your email templates are responsive on both mobile and desktop.
2. Use Your Brand Voice
When writing your email message remember to keep in mind your brand voice. You want your people to recognize your company, even if they didn’t see who the email was from. Keep in mind tone and word usage as a part of this!
3. Use Attention-Grabbing Visuals
Remember to include attention-grabbing visuals such as images that show off your amazing products and BTS shots. Just don’t include too many (we say no more than 3-5) — as that can lead to Spam filters blocking your message from hitting your people’s inbox.
4. Include A CTA
After the person is done reading your email, make sure they have somewhere to go! Remember to include a call-to-action and really spell it out for them. Should they be clicking a button to get more info? Clicking on linked text to buy a product that’s on sale?
5. Write a Good Subject Line
First things first, never write a subject line over 50 characters — but try to keep it to 20 or under. 47% of people open emails on subject lines alone, so think about what would make someone in your target market open your email? Leave them wanting more and see your open rates flourish.
