Curating the Perfect IGLive
They’ve been around for a while, so maybe you’re already acquainted with IGLive, or you’ve at least tuned-in to someone else's. You’ve watched and wondered, “How could I do that in my business?” or “How do I make this worth my while? After all, it’s another thing I actually have to plan out and execute.” The truth is, it’s way easier than you think and requires less man hours than you might think.
Curious about our tips for curating the perfect Instagram Live?
Here are a few hot takes:
1. Create an Outline
Create an outline ahead of time to avoid overwhelm. Once you’re more familiar with the platform, you don’t have to do this (but you can if you want!) but when you’re first starting out + perhaps a little nervous, it can be a fantastic reference point.
2. Chat With Your Audience
Remember, an Instagram Live isn’t like a YouTube video where you’re talking at an audience the whole time, only responding in the comments afterwards. During IGLives your audience is tuning in right along with you — live! Welcome people as they enter the “room” and carve in time for questions and conversation towards the end if you can. It’s an amazing way to get to know your audience, and therefore serve them, better.
3. Make Space
If you know you’re likely to get camera shy or have kiddos who could walk in + skip-up your groove at any moment, make a space where you feel calm, collected and confident. Perhaps that’s your desk where you know you can enter your “CEO mindset” or your couch where you can cozy up with a cup of tea like an old friend. It is totally up to you!
