How to Make Your Time in Isolation Work For You
Being quarantined has undoubtedly been a tough time. No one saw this coming and we’ve all had to grasp at “what’s next” step by step throughout the last few months. Still feel like you’re finding your new-for-now groove and want tips for how to make your time in isolation work for you? Here are a few things that have helped the crew over at Printed Mint…
1. Give Yourself Grace
First things first, in order to get anything worthwhile done, you have to give yourself grace. If your morning has to look different for you to find peace and be productive in the afternoon, let it. If your body is begging for a day of rest, give it to yourself. We understand it’s not always possible to lean into these things, but the more often we do the more often we can show up as the best version of ourselves both in our personal lives + business.
2. Ditch the Phone
When you’re not FaceTiming loved ones or replying to social media inquiries (which we highly recommend you set aside a specific time for) ditch the phone. We’ve found it so much easier to get work done when we’re not constantly seeing our screen light up with a new notification, checking what that latest email said or feeling pulled into the Instagram time suck.
3. Create New Rules
Things were a little different when many of us were in spaces with our employees for a set amount of time each day, but now that more and more companies are operating out of their homes, why is the 9-5 so important? As long as there are set check-in times for your team, get flexible and create new rules for what this time can look like for you! Maybe that means you work from noon onwards if that’s when you’re most productive. Maybe you take Wednesday’s off to stroll your city when it’s less populated + work a little later on Tuesday if needed instead. Create your business, create your life!
