The Power of TikTok
You’ve heard of TikTok — how could you not with it being the 6th largest social media platform in the world right now even outperforming social giants Snapchat and Pinterest. However, what you might not know is that it’s creating serious success stories for small businesses looking to take a chance on the app. Australian fashion retailer Princess Polly ran a discount code campaign on TikTok and the results speak for themselves… it brought in over 9 million impressions, a 1.05% click-through rate + a 15X return on ad spend.
Ready to learn more or at least dive into the possibilities that posting on TikTok can bring you? Keep reading on.
1. Utilize the “Discover” Page
Download TikTok and hop-on to the “Discover” page to see what’s trending on the app. This will give you or your social media manager an idea for sounds frequently being used and any challenges or trends your small business can join-in on. This will not only help your chances of a video going viral, but could also lead to more sales as well.
2. Show Off Your Products
One thing we see some businesses doing is creating videos that have to do with TikTok trends, but not including their products! This is a big “nope” in our book. If you’re creating a TikTok that’s being garnered to promote a sale or showcase new inventory, make sure you’re finding a creative way to incorporate it into the video. Phoenix-based business, Page Petal, does this extremely well!
3. Don’t Worry About Perfection
Actually posting to TikTok is the goal here, not trying to get it “perfect” time and time again! Not only will taking the time to edit and redo vids eat-up your time as TikTok culture is constantly evolving, it just isn’t necessary. Unlike Instagram where users are looking for a more curated experience (and even those standards aren’t what they used to be due to users craving more reality), TikTok just asks you to show up as you are, having a good time and hopefully evoking some emotion for the strollers.
Tell us: Are you on TikTok? If not, will you throw your brand into the mix now?
