1. Do A/B Split Tests

To find what works for your company, you’ll have to try lots of different approaches. 


For example:


  • Which subject line converts better?
  • How many images is your sweet spot?
  • Are your people more likely to click on hyperlinked text or buttons?

     2. Use Merge Tags

    Merge tags are those handy dandy shortcuts that automatically insert things like your list member’s first name, their last name, their company name and the list goes on. People like to see they’re receiving correspondence from other people — not a robot behind a computer screen. When they feel like they’re being directly addressed, it will lead to a better relationship down the road. 


    3. Brand It Up

    You’ve spent so much time branding your business, don’t stop now! Make sure the templates you’re using for email marketing use the same or similar fonts, the colors chosen in your company color palette and that your brand voice is the same as it is on the copy of your website. Readers should know that an email came from your business as soon as their eyes hit the screen.
