Ways to Get Product Reviews
Your incredible item has made its way into the hands of its incredible new owner and (hopefully!) they’re loving it. You’ve taken the time to design the product with love, package it with care and ship it off to its new home wishing nothing but the best — but how do you get a product review afterwards? That’s a question many business owners find themselves asking!
Here are a few of our top tips for encouraging product reviews.
1. Attach An Offer To It
One of the most effective ways to get product reviews from your customers is to attach an offer to it! If you’re an ecommerce business we encourage you to include a small mailer in the package that tells them they’ll receive X amount off of they’re next purchase if they write a product review within 30 days of purchase. If you’re a brick and mortar, make sure you mention how much reviews help your site at checkout + include a similar flyer in their bag.
The extra mile? Making sure you cover the exact steps it’ll take to write the review — and show them how easy it can be! It should be as simple as 1-2-3.
2. Send a Post Delivery Email Campaign
Another wonderful way to encourage product reviews is to implement a post delivery (or purchase if bought in-store and you have access to their email) email drip campaign. You can remind them of the offer in tip number one and provide a direct link to the product that was bought so they don’t have to go searching on your website! If you make it easy and quick, people are usually more than happy to help a small business they love.
3. Make Sure It’s Mobile Friendly
Whatever platform you’re using to gather product reviews and shop testimonials, make sure it’s mobile friendly! More than half of the people worldwide use their smartphones to access the Internet, so this step is particularly important.
