Working With Influencers to Boost Product Sales
If you’re a shop owner, whether in the online world or the owner of a brick and mortar space, influencers can do serious things for your business. One Insta, blog post or TikTok shout-out from the right person could boost your sales, credibility and name recognition. 72% of users make purchasing decisions based on Instagram alone! If it sounds like it could be a great move for your business, it’s because it definitely could be! That being said, Influencer Marketing can be a job in and of itself — unsure of how to approach working with influencers?
We’re here today to share our tips with you.
1. Define Your Target Market
Already done? Perfect! Now, the trick is to find influencers (bloggers, Instagramers, YouTubers or TikTokers, etc.) that have the same or similar target market to you. For instance, if you sell travel items on Etsy for the independent female traveler, you won’t want to reach-out to a YouTube star who only does beauty videos — you’d want to reach-out to someone that Vlogs about travel and could actually use your items. That way, if they agree to work with you it comes off incredibly genuine on both accounts!
2. Micro Influencers
Over 82% of consumers are likely to buy something a micro influencer recommends. Remember when you’re reaching out to Influencers that it isn’t always about those sky-high follower counts — it’s about true engagement and people who trust + feel connected to that person!
3. Read Through Their Price Sheets
Oftentimes an Influencer will send you price sheets and it’s totally feasible that when you’re just starting out you may have to decline + keep them in your back pocket for down the road when you have a larger budget. A good way to burn a bridge? Extreme low balling. Remember that Influencers are business owners making a living just like you and content creation takes a lot of work! Respect their cost just like you want your customers to respect yours and all will go well.
