You have the incredible products, the caring customer service and the social media presence — the Printed Mint team is clapping away! But do you have a website that makes it easy for customers to find what they’re looking for, fall in love with your brand and want to shop? Today, we’re sharing the three components of a shoppable website.
1. Have a Search Bar
Having a search bar on your website is crucial to a good shopping experience! Often, buyers are in a hurry and want to find what they’re looking for quickly. Make it easy for them by having products efficiently tagged using descriptors and categories. Not sure how to add one? This website shows you how to add one on Shopify and this article has a good round-up of search bar plug-ins for WordPress.
2. Use Natural Looking Lighting
Product photos are everything when it comes to selling your goods online and lighting is a major component of photographing your items well! We know what you’re thinking: “Okay, so don’t shoot in the dark, clean-up the surrounding area, got it,” but using natural lighting is also incredibly crucial! Why? Because if the lighting is even a little off, the product coloring can appear different than the item the buyer receives on their doorstep — a customer experience no brand wants to have under their belt!
3. Tell Your Brand Story
Telling your brand story is so important and allows your customers to connect with you — not just your product line! Make sure to have an “About Us” page infused with your story so they can learn about the folks they’re purchasing from and where their hard earned dollars are off to.
